Chronic Absenteeism
Per federal definition, students who are absent (includes both excused and unexcused absences) 10 percent or more of the scheduled days are considered "chronically absent."
For the purposes of DataQuest, a student is considered chronically absent if they had greater than 30 days of expected attendance and are absent (includes both excused and unexcused absences) 10 percent or more of the scheduled days.
For purposes of the Accountability Dashboard, a student is considered chronically absent if they attended the school, had greater than 30 days of expected attendance and are absent (includes both excused and unexcused absences) 10 percent or more of the scheduled days.
