Report 7.16 Incident Removals for Students with Disabilities – Count

(Updated as of 04/04/2023)

Description: Reports the number of students with disabilities who were removed from their regular instructional setting for disciplinary reasons, regardless of enrollment status. It also reports the total number of removals and the number of students with disabilities who commit offenses that resulted in no suspension or expulsion, by disability category.

Security Role Required: EOY 3 Reports

Data As Of:

  • Snapshot version, any time in the reported academic year (7/1 – 6/30)

Basic Selection Criteria:

  • Student Enrollment (SENR) and Student Information (SINF) data reported or used for selecting student subgroups (e.g. Enrollment Status and Grade Level) are associated with the most recent qualifying enrollment at the school during the Report Period, regardless of when the incident occurred
  • Student Program (SPRG) data used for student groups are selected from the most recent SPRG record for the school of attendance in the associated SINC record with Education Program Membership Start Date and Education Program Membership End Date (if exists) that overlap with the Incident Occurrence Date.
  • Enrollment Status Code 10-Primary, 20-Secondary, 30-Short Term
  • Grade Level: KN, 01-12, IN, TD, PS
  • Special Education (SPED) data used for selecting Students with Disabilities are selected from qualifying Active SPED record that overlaps the qualifying enrollment at the Reporting LEA in the SINC record with the Incident Occurrence Date
    • Education Plan Type (Field 14.24) = 100 (IEP/IFP), 150 (IFSP), or 200 (ISP), AND (Plan Set Start Date <= Reporting Period Through (End) Date and either ((Plan Set has no End date) or (Plan Set Exit Date >= Reporting Period From (Start) Date)))
  • Student Incident Results (Record Type = SIRS) and Student Incident (Record Type = SINC) for the Academic Year being reported

Report Filters: Filters can be selected resulting in only totals for the selected filter being displayed

If a Student has more than one of the same incident result in separate incidents, include each incident result as a separate event in this count.

If a Student is removed due to out-of-school suspension in separate incidents, count the student only once within each disaggregated category.
7 # of Students Removed to an Interim Alternative Setting (Unduplicated 100) - Unduplicated count of SSIDs within each disaggregated category at the School of Attendance that have at least one Incident Result Record where:
SIRS 19.14-Incident Result Code = 100 and SINC18.17-Removal to Interim Alternative Setting Reason Code = 1 or 2
If a Student is removed to an interim alternative setting as an out-of-school suspension result in separate incidents, count the student only once within each disaggregated category.
8 # of Students That Were Removed (Unduplicated 110) - Unduplicated count of SSIDs within each disaggregated category at the School of Attendance that have at least one Incident Results record where SIRS Field 19.14-Incident Result Code = 110
If a Student is removed due to in-school suspension as a result in separate incidents, count the student only once within each disaggregated category.
9 # of Students Removed to an Interim Alternative Setting (Unduplicated 110) - Unduplicated count of SSIDs within each disaggregated category at the School of Attendance that have at least one Incident Result Record where:
SIRS 19.14-Incident Result Code = 110 and SINC18.17-Removal to Interim Alternative Setting Reason Code = 1 or 2
If a Student is removed to an interim alternative setting as an in-school suspension discipline action in separate incidents count the student only once within each disaggregated category.
10 Total # of Students That Were Removed (Unduplicated 200) - Unduplicated count of SSIDs within each disaggregated category at the School of Attendance that have at least one Incident Result record where SIRS Field 19.14- Incident Result Code = 200
If a Student is expelled as a result in separate incidents, count the student only once within each disaggregated category.
11 # of Students Removed to an Interim Alternative Setting (unduplicated 200) - Unduplicated count of SSIDs within each disaggregated category at the School of Attendance that have at least one Incident Result record where:
SIRS 19.14-Incident Result Code = 200 and SINC18.17-Removal to Interim Alternative Setting Reason Code = 1 or 2
If a Student is removed to an interim alternative setting as an expulsion result in separate incidents, count the student only once within each disaggregated category.
12 Total # of Restraint Incidents (501, 502) - Duplicated count of SSIDs where SIRS Field 19.14-Incident Result Code = 501, 502 within each disaggregated category
If a Student has more than one of the same incident results in separate incidents, include each incident result as a separate event in this count.
If a student has more than one incident result in the same incident, count each incident result.
13 Total # of Students Restrained (501, 502) - Unduplicated count of SSIDs within each disaggregated category at the School of Attendance that have at least one SIRS Field 19.14-Incident Result Code = 501, 502
If a Student has the same result as a part of separate incidents, count the student only once within each disaggregated category.
14 Total # of Seclusion Incidents (600) - Duplicated count of SSIDs where SIRS Field 19.14-Incident Result Code = 600 within each disaggregated category
If a Student has more than one of the same incident results in separate incidents, include each incident result as a separate event in this count.
If a student has more than one incident result in the same incident, count each incident result.
15 Total # of Students Secluded (600) - Unduplicated count of SSIDs within each disaggregated category at the School of Attendance that have at least one SIRS Field 19.14-Incident Result Code = 600
